Bio

Marcin built his track record working at law firms, among them one of the leading independent Polish firms, and also worked for a major organization in the public sector in the Małopolski voivodship.

At TKP, Marcin is part of the TMT practice group, in the IT-Telco team. His practice focus is intellectual property law in the IT and new technologies sector. He also has experience working on data protection matters and litigation cases, and due diligence projects for corporate takeovers and transformations.

In his professional practice, Marcin has mainly advised large and medium-sized enterprises, primarily in the IT and gamedev sectors, but in the energy sector as well, including as lead lawyer.

He is registered with the Bar Association in Kraków, and is a member of the New Technologies Law Association.

Marcin studied at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, and did a post-graduate course on intellectual property law at the university.

Marcin has a fluent command of English.

A legislative proposal to amend the Copyright Law and possible change in computer program licensing rules in the Polish IT sector

On 20 June 2022, the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage commenced public consultations on a proposal to amend the Copyright Law of 4 February 1994. The provisions being discussed are intended primarily to transpose Directive (EU) 2019/790 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market and amending Directives 96/9/EC and 2001/29/EC.
