Bio

Łukasz has more than twenty years’ experience in designing, implementing, overseeing, and auditing cybersecurity management systems in business and in institutions in the public sector.

He was responsible for creating from scratch a complete security department for the largest critical infrastructure operator in Poland, constructed and secured accreditation for the operator’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), and gained admission for the company itself to the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (EnSec CoE). He also initiated the founding and subsequently headed the Polish Power Transmission and Distribution Association (PTPiREE) Cybersecurity Team, which acted at the same time as the Polish representative for the European Association of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-e) Critical Systems Protection Working Group. Until recently, he was in charge of implementing and certifying conformity of the data security management integrated system with the international standard ISO/IEC 27001 at Hitachi ABB Power Grids (now Hitachi Energy) – the largest global provider for the electricity sector, with more than 300 facilities in 63 countries. Łukasz is currently a Global Product Cyber Security Expert at Woodward, Inc. – the world’s oldest aviation, rocket, and ship engine and turbine control system provider, and provider of a range of other specialist industrial systems.

He is a member of the Safety and Security Division of the International Society of Automation (ISA) and was a member of the staff in an operation to provide security for World Youth Day 2016. In this capacity, he was responsible for security of the National Power System. He is the only court expert consultant in Poland on cybersecurity management and data security management for the Warsaw Regional Court. In addition, he is a certified expert on information security management systems (ISO/IEC 27001) business continuity (ISO 22301), information security risk management (ISO/IEC 27005), cybersecurity incident management (ISO/IEC 27035), and industrial automation and control system security (ISA/IEC 62443).

He is a postgraduate lecturer on cybersecurity management at the Koźmiński University, banking cooperative cybersecurity risk at the Warsaw School of Economics, and the MBA – Security & Critical Infrastructure at the War Studies University. In 2012, he was awarded a doctorate in security at the Special Engineering Faculty at the University of Žilina. Łukasz was given an award for the best doctoral thesis on practical use of academic research by the European Association for Security for his dissertation on the Importance of Data Security in a Business. In 2020, he completed the Executive MBA programme at the Institut Francais de Gestion with the Idea to Market distinction for the project CyberSecurity4Small.

At TKP, as Of counsel, Łukasz is a consultant on substantive issues for Cyber Legal Compliance services.
