Maciej Toroń
Bio
Maciej Toroń specializes in civil and commercial law, and waste management, EU, and public aid law. He provides assistance to commercial companies and non-governmental organizations in drafting civil law and commercial contracts, as well as in corporate transactions and registration procedures. He advises Clients – both managing authorities and beneficiaries – who implement projects financed from EU funds. He advises public entities and entrepreneurs on the possibility of obtaining or using support constituting state aid or de minimis aid. He supports venture capital funds and startups. His research interests focus on human rights, the freedoms of the EU internal market, and EU competition law, including state aid regulations.
Maciej has authored academic papers on human rights, competition law, and public international law, and has drafted many legal opinions in respect of state and de minimis aid. He has also co-authored several publications on payment services. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for academic achievement and took part in the Erasmus exchange program at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He also participated in the Law Extra program regarding antitrust regulations and their enforcement in the EU and the US, organized by the Radboud Honors Academy at Radboud University Nijmegen. Maciej is fluent in English. He also speaks German and has a basic command of Dutch. |
