Seminar: Complicity as a special form of participation in anti-competitive agreements – in the light of EU law and Polish law

On 3 April 2019, an open seminar entitled “Complicity as a special form of participation in anti-competitive agreements – in the light of EU law and Polish law” will be held in Warsaw, organised by Competition Law Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The following issues will be discussed during the event:

  • New forms of group practices limiting competition;
  • Anti-monopoly responsibility of cartel accomplices on the basis of EU law;
  • EU conception of responsibility of cartel accomplices in investigations by the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.

On 25-26 March 2019 a conference on “Management of institutional risk and transactions on the basis of AMLD4 implementing acts” will be held in Warsaw.

On the second day, a lecture on “Obligations of institutions to ​​suspend transactions and/or block accounts” will be delivered by Michał Synowiec, our lawyer from the Financial Institutions and Payment Services Law team (FinTech).

The Polish Federation of Food Industry Employers Association invites you to a conference entitled “Amicable Consumer Dispute Settlement Regarding Foodstuffs,” which will take place on 17 January 2019 at the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection Conference Centre in Warsaw.

Conference: GDPR in Marketing – First Experiences and Interpretations

On 25 May 2018 the GDPR came into effect – it has been one of the most challenging implementations in many years and is also easily misinterpreted. Marketing is one of the key areas where personal data is present on a wide scale.

During the conference on GDPR in Marketing – First Experiences and Interpretations there will be a presentation of the course and effects of the first inspection procedures, sanctions on the basis of the GDPR, first experiences and interpretations. The conference will be held in Warsaw on 14-15 January 2019.

4th Personal Data Protection Conference. GDPR and the new Personal Data Protection Act – first months of applying the regulations

The fourth edition of the conference organised by the C.H. Beck Publishing House and devoted to the subject of personal data protection will be held in Warsaw on 22 November 2018.

This year’s meeting addresses problems with implementing the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation), issues related to the new Personal Data Protection Act, and amendments to the Labour Code regarding the processing and protection of employee data.

The Conference has been divided into three discussion panels:

  • Practical problems with implementing GDPR
  • Employee data processing and protection
