Training course: Agreements for the Use of Software in a Computing Cloud
The objective of the event is to comprehensively present the legal issues of computing cloud projects. The speakers will present the current body of judicial decisions issued by Polish and foreign courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union, cloud-relevant legal regulations, as well as the standpoints of regulatory bodies. During the event, the following questions will be explored in detail:
- What is the effect of regulations resulting from the GDPR on the possibility of using cloud solutions?
- Do cybersecurity regulations create a barrier for the use of cloud solutions?
- Are public entities to any extent limited in the use of cloud solutions?

Online workshop on new rules on intellectual property law: directives and resolutions, protecting copyright, IP BOX
On 02-03.03.2021, MMC Polska will be conducting training on New rules on intellectual property law: directives and resolutions, protecting copyright, and the IP BOX. The first day of the training will feature expert Agnieszka Wachowska talking about intellectual property management in IT projects, and topics such as:
- How to acquire copyright effectively and how important this is;

Training on protecting personality rights on the Internet
On 29 March, training will be held on Protecting personality rights on the Internet, organized by Akademia C.H. Beck.

Consumer protection – the latest legislative developments, trends, and areas of growth
We recommend a two-day workshop organized by MMC Polska on 22-23 March 2021, at which TKP experts will explain consumer protection and new technologies issues. Polish Academy of Sciences Legal Studies Institute Professor Paweł Podrecki and Cracow University of Economics Professor Jan Byrski will explain the opportunities, risks, and challenges this presents, i.e. safe transformation in the consumer product and trade sector. In turn, Dr Katarzyna Menszig-Wiese will elaborate upon the practical aspects of expanding consumer protection to cover certain business entities.
Renegotiating leases for commercial units in shopping centers – practical aspects
For those interested in learning about the practical aspects of renegotiating leases for commercial units in shopping centers, a webinar is being organized by Puls Biznesu. In the training, TKP experts attorneys-at-law Rafal Klimek and Emilia Chmielewska will talk about the main aspects of the topic according to the Civil Code and regulations and guidelines introduced during the Coronavirus pandemic, focusing in particular on the lessee’s liability for rent for a period when the unit is closed for business when no notice is served of renewal of the lease and possible grounds in law and in fact for a decrease in rent at times of limited operation of a shopping center.
We recommend online training on Legal aspects of cybersecurity, organized by Centrum Promocji Informatyki. The training aims to define the legal framework and obligations under the discussed regulations for obliged entities, including key service providers, digital service providers, and public administration bodies. The workshop will also focus on regulation of those issues in agreements with IT providers – the key provisions will be identified that should be included in agreements, and the consequences of not doing so will be discussed, especially with respect to liability and termination of agreements. The final issues will be criminal, administrative, and civil liability with respect to cybersecurity.

On 23 February 2021, a webinar will be held on IT disputes – a Contractor’s perspective. The webinar will cover the major legal issues relating to disputes over performance of IT agreements.
The webinar will cover the most common causes of ‘conflicts’ under IT agreements and recommended scenarios for how IT contractors might proceed in cases of disputes.
It will also cover the main contractual provisions that safeguard a contractor’s interests in case disputes arise.
